The GLP-1 Lifestyle Method

The GLP-1 Lifestyle Method — Steady Weight and Clarity

GLP-1 Lifestyle Series #1

By Dr. Michael Knott DMSc PA-C

The GLP-1 Lifestyle Method is a simple system for living on GLP-1 medications with stability and control. It is not a diet. It is a daily rhythm based on how the body responds to food, movement, and medication.

GLP-1 medications lower hunger and slow digestion. This creates a window to build habits that last. The method gives a clear structure to follow during that window. The goal is not to eat less. The goal is to eat with intention, protect lean muscle, and avoid relapse when appetite returns.

Four Daily Practices

Protein First: Start meals with 30–45 grams of protein. This supports muscle, improves satiety, and smooths appetite signals.

Slow Carbs: Choose carbohydrates that digest steadily. Whole fruit, vegetables, oats, beans, lentils, and similar foods help prevent glucose spikes and drop-cravings.

Movement After Meals: Walk 10–15 minutes after eating. This lowers post-meal glucose and improves insulin function. Short and consistent is better than intense and rare.

Track the Signals: Log weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar 3–4 times per week. Trends reveal progress earlier than feelings do.

Why It Works

Most people struggle with weight because hunger and energy signals are loud and inconsistent. GLP-1 medications reduce that noise. The method uses that reduced noise to install patterns that are steady and repeatable. The structure becomes automatic over time. When medication doses change, the routine stays in place.

Your Health Dashboard

My Daily Health Journal (MDHJ) displays weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar on clear trend graphs. Trends give information that feelings cannot. You do not have to guess. You do not have to wait for a setback. You can adjust early and stay steady.
